Celebrating Convocation at Canada Life Place
Starting June 2025, Convocation is moving to Canada Life Place for approximately five years.
This temporary venue shift provides improved accessibility features and can accommodate a larger number of graduates and guests, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience for all.
What to Expect
You will receive a warm Western welcome the moment you arrive downtown. From Western banners guiding you to the venue to a Western gift shop onsite, you and your guests will leave Convocation feeling purple and proud.
Celebrating with loved ones
You can order up to four tickets to invite friends and family to your convocation ceremony. You can request additional tickets if needed. If guests can’t attend in person, they can still celebrate with you by watching our live stream.
Parking
Parking is available on campus and at Canada Life Place. Plan ahead and explore your parking options.
Getting to and from campus
You and your guests can enjoy free London Transit Commission bus transportation to and from campus the day of your convocation ceremony. All you need is your convocation ticket. Learn more about using the LTC.
Dundas Place
Before or after the ceremony, mingle with other grads and their families, take photos, and enjoy the celebratory atmosphere.
Canada Life Place Policies
It's important to be respectful of all graduates and follow the rules and guidelines provided by the venue.
Bag Policy
Bags are permitted inside the venue and will be subject to a security search upon entry. However, oversized bags, including backpacks or any items that cannot fit comfortably under a seat, will not be allowed. Please note that we do not offer bag check services.
Visit Canada Life Place's website for FAQs and details about their bag policy.
Prohibited Items
The following items are not allowed in Canada Life Place:
- Aerosol cans
- Backpacks
- Outside food and beverage
- Professional cameras or video and audio recording devices
- Selfie sticks
- Drones
- Go-pro devices
For a list of more items, visit the Canada Life Place website.
Banners and Signs
Convocation honours the hard work and accomplishments of each graduate. To that end, banners, signs, posters, and flags are not permitted. They may obstruct the view of others and take away from the celebration of these students’ achievements. We are mindful of the distances many of their families have travelled for this momentous occasion in their lives and we ask everyone honour that.
