Attending Hong Kong Convocation:

|Guest tickets are required for the Spring and Autumn Convocations. See the home page of this site for a link to obtain tickets for your Convocation. Spring tickets will be available in late May, Autumn tickets will be available mid-October.|

|Graduates must pre-register for a free 5x7 portrait. Select your ceremony date and time.|

Applying for and preparing to graduate can be an exciting and busy time. Despite the best intentions, sometimes issues may arise on your day of Convocation. Please be assured that our staff are on hand before, during and after Convocation to walk you through any questions you may have and are always prepared to help.
|Arrive at Western.|
Parking: Guests should park at the South Valley Parking Lot (see map here) and follow the path up the stairs to Alumni Hall. Parking will be free of charge on a first-come first-served basis. Shuttle service will be provided between Alumni Hall and the South Valley Parking Lot at no charge starting at 7:30AM. Accessible parking is available in the Alumni Hall parking lot.
Note: Shuttle drivers have been instructed not to install car seats and request that the parents install the seats themselves. Shuttle drivers have also been instructed to ensure all children are placed in individual seats with seat belts and not be allowed to sit on parents’ laps while vehicles are traveling throughout the campus.
Regalia Pickup for Graduates: at the Mustang Lounge, University Community Centre.
Graduates must rent regalia on-site if they did not preorder.
Doors open daily at 7:30AM.
For afternoon graduates, regalia should be picked up after 10:30AM to allow the morning ceremony graduands to pick up their regalia before graduation.
Regalia Returns: Regalia must be returned to the Mustang Lounge by 6:00PM.
|Graduating Students must go, with their regalia, to Thames Hall gym, Room 3120, no later than 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the ceremony.|
|Leave personal belongings with relatives prior to entering the gym, or they must be left with an attendant in Thames Hall.|
|Graduates will be given instructions regarding the procession at this time. Please note that Western encourages all students to celebrate their Convocation day with friends and family however, only those individuals eligible to graduate are permitted to cross the stage.|
|You may ask the orator assigned to your row about reviewing the pronunciation of your name once you receive your name card.|
|Etiquette: This is an event to honour each graduate's accomplishments. All participants will be expected to conduct themselves with decorum and in a mature and responsible manner. No photos are to be taken on the stage (i.e., no selfies or selfie sticks).|
|Reception. Immediately following the ceremony, the Alumni Association will host a reception for new alumni and their guests.|
|Regalia Returns: Regalia must be returned to the Mustang Lounge by 6:00 p.m.|
|You may purchase diploma frames from designated areas or you may visit The Book Store at Western, University Community Centre.|
