RSVP and Guest Tickets

General Ticket Information

  • Students don’t need to RSVP that they’re attending Convocation but they do need to request online tickets for their guests
  • Students will receive up to 4 guest tickets*, space permitting
    • The number of guest tickets available to each student will be determined prior to the first day to order online tickets and will be posted on the home page
    • Online tickets for the Spring (June) Convocation will be available starting at the end of May; the link to order will be posted on the home page
    • Online tickets for the Autumn (October) Convocation will be available starting mid-October; the link to order will be posted on the home page
    • Read below under “Extra Tickets” for information on obtaining additional guest tickets
  • When available, students planning to attend their ceremony must order tickets online and share them with their guests
    • Tickets may be printed or presented on a mobile device
  • Tickets are NOT transferable: your guests may only use the tickets assigned to you and they may not use tickets from another student
* Students graduating from King’s University College in the Spring (June) Convocation ceremony will receive 2 guest tickets due to the large size of their graduating class.

Information for Guests

  • Guests are encouraged to arrive early; seating in the ceremony is on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Doors for morning ceremonies open at 8:45am
    • After 9:30am, tickets will no longer guarantee a seat and guests will only be admitted if space is available
  • Doors for afternoon ceremonies open at 1:45pm
    • After 2:30pm, tickets will no longer guarantee a seat and guests will only be admitted if space is available
  • If Alumni Hall reaches its capacity, all remaining guests (including ticket-holders) will be seated in an overflow room to watch the ceremony via direct video stream
  • Ushers will not permit seats to be held for late arriving guests
  • After the Academic Procession has entered the auditorium, the doors will be closed and latecomers will be admitted during appropriate pauses in the ceremony
  • Due to the length and nature of the Convocation ceremonies, we recommend that if possible, parents avoid bringing babies and young children with them

Accessible Seating

Special arrangements for guests (wheelchairs, etc.) must be made by contacting the Convocation Secretary at 519-661-2055 prior to June 1 for Spring or October 8 for Autumn. Reserved tickets will be granted in exchange for regular tickets. Extra reserved tickets will not be issued.

Extra Tickets

If extra tickets become available for Convocation, they will be available online on a first-come, first-served basis; the date and website where they can be requested will be posted on the home page in late April for Spring ceremonies, and late September for Autumn ceremonies. Information will also be shared prior to the first date to request extra tickets in email communications with students.
