It is not necessary for students to RSVP that they are attending the ceremony; however, it IS necessary for students to request online tickets for their guests in advance. Once online tickets are available, students planning to attend the ceremony must print off their tickets (please print one ticket per page) and give them to their guests to bring on the day of Convocation in order to gain admittance to the auditorium, space permitting. It is suggested that guests arrive early.
Students will receive up to 4 guest tickets, space permitting, for their graduation ceremony. If more tickets become available for any ceremony, they will be released to students; read additional information below under "Extra Tickets". The number of guest tickets allotted to each student will be determined prior to the first day to order online tickets and will be posted on the home page.
Tickets are NOT transferable. Your guests may only use the tickets assigned to you. Your guests may not use tickets from another student.
Special arrangements for guests (wheelchairs, etc.) must be made by contacting the Convocation Secretary at 519-661-2055 prior to June 1 for Spring or October 8 for Autumn. Reserved tickets will be granted in exchange for regular tickets. Extra reserved tickets will not be issued.
For the Spring (June) Ceremony, online tickets will be available from this site at the end of May. Seating at the ceremony is on a first-come, first-served basis.
For the Autumn (October) Ceremony, online tickets will be available from this site starting mid-October. Seating at the ceremony is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The doors of Alumni Hall will open at 8:45am for morning ceremonies and at 1:45pm for afternoon ceremonies. After 9:30am for morning ceremonies and after 2:30pm for afternoon ceremonies, tickets will no longer guarantee a seat for guests and guests will only be admitted if space is available. Once the capacity in the main auditorium has been reached, all remaining guests--including those holding tickets--will be seated in an overflow room to watch the ceremony via direct video stream. Due to the length and nature of the Convocation ceremonies, we strongly suggest that if possible, parents should avoid bringing babies and young children with them. In the interest of all concerned, ushers will not permit seats to be held for late arriving guests. After the Academic Procession has entered the auditorium, the doors will be closed and latecomers will be admitted only during appropriate pauses in the ceremony.
If extra tickets become available for Convocation, they will be available online on a first-come, first-served basis; the date and website where they can be requested will be posted on the home page in late April for Spring ceremonies, and late September for Autumn ceremonies. Information will also be shared prior to the first date to request extra tickets in email communications with students.
